MEALS ON WHEELS
Since 1967, Maimonides has provided an indispensable service to the frail, home-bound elderly by delivering hot-meals through their meals-on-wheels program. The only service of its kind in Montreal to supply hot meals five days a week, the meal consists of soup, a main course with a choice of meat, chicken or fish together with potatoes and vegetables, fresh fruit, a tinned dessert and bread - at a very affordable cost to the recipient. Maimonides meals-on-wheels program delivers close to 10,000 meals yearly.
Requests for the service may be made through the community or a social worker who then refers them to the Cummings Jewish Centre for Seniors who channel all requests.
