Barbra Gold, Maimonides Executive Director, was the recipient of the 2007 Federation CJA Professional Excellence award. The award recognizes exemplary performance by professionals in any of the affiliated Federation agencies.

Maimonides Geriatric Centre recently won the Quality of Life Award acknowledging the interdisciplinary team working on the Life Biography Project. The award is sponsored by Smith and Nephew and given out by the Canadian College of Health Services Executives (CCHSE), a national, non-profit, professional association dedicated to recognizing excellence in health leadership. The Quality of Life Award honours those whose passion, creativity and dedication goes beyond their job to make a difference in the residents' quality of life.

Lucie Tremblay, Director of Nursing and Clinical Services was recognized with the Professional of the Year award from the Association of Jewish Aging Services (AJAS) of North America. The award recognizes an individual who reflects the highest standards of professional knowledge and expertise, shows exceptional leadership and is highly respected by, staff, residents and families.

2006

Maimonides won one of the most prestigious health care awards in Canada for its Fall Prevention Program. The 2006 3M Health Care Quality Team Award was presented in front of a crowd of 600 people at the annual meeting of the Canadian College of Health Service Executives in Victoria, BC. The award recognizes teams in health care organizations who are devising innovative ways to improve the delivery of programs and services.

Nechama Surik, RNA, recently wonTWO awards recognizing her achievements in health care. Nechama received the prestigious Prix d’Excellence Charlotte-Tassé, an award given by the Ordres des infirmièrs et infirmières auxiliaries du Quebec to one RNA in the province every two years. Nechama also received the esteemed Mérite Conseil Interprofessionel du Quebec. This award is given to one person representing all the 45 Professional Orders with membership in the hundreds of thousands.

Maimonides won the Jewish Programming award from the Association of Jewish Aging Services (AJAS) for its Chanukat Habayit program.

Maimonides was recognized with the Annette W. & Herbert H. Lichterman Outstanding Programming Award for its welcoming program for new residents. The award, given out by the Associates of Jewish Homes and Services for the Aging (AJHSA) recognizes programs that enhance the quality of life for residents.

2004

The communications tools (invitation, sponsor form, poster, etc) for the 2003 Maimonides Battle of the Bands was a finalist for a Hygeia Award in the Special Purpose Communication-Fundraising category. This National award, given out by the Health Care Public Relations Association (HCPRA), recognizes excellence in health care communications.

2004

Maimonides recently received an Honourable Mention for its encouragement and support of nurses wanting to receive Gerontology Certification. The award is given by the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA).

2003

The Maimonides Outreach Dental Clinic won the 2003 "Prix Qualité" from the Quebec Association of CLSC's and CHSLD's. The award is given to a long-term care institution in recognition of the exceptional quality of care provided to the community.

The restraint-reduction program at Maimonides won an Honourable Mention from the Prix d'excellence de l'administration publique Québécoise.

Maimonides received an Honourable Mention from the Quebec Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse. The honour is for the most innovative project concerning the prevention/intervention of elder abuse.

2002

3M and the Canadian College of Health Service Executives presented Maimonides with the 3M Health Care Quality Team Awards for the Restraint Reduction Program. The awards encourage and recognize those teams within health care organizations, that are using the quality process to create measureable benefits within their programs and services.

Maimonides received an award from the West Montreal Readaptation Centre, in collaboration with John Abbott College in recognition of their contribution to the community by welcoming individuals with an intellectual disability into their milieu.

2001

Maimonides received the Jewish Programming Award for Homes given by the Association of Jewish Aging Services (AJAS) for their innovative "Roots" program. This award was established to recognize facilities that have developed specific programs to enhance the spiritual well-being of their residents. The "Roots" program underlines the important role of our Jewish elders in passing on the Jewish values, heritage and history to the younger generation.

Maimonides was named finalist for the Abuse Prevention Program which was submitted for Les Prix Persillier-Lachapelle in the category "le prix d'excellence pour les initiatives des établissements - Qualité des services à la population." The same article achieved finalist status for the Prix d"excellence en administration publique awarded by ENAP - École nationale d'administration publique.

1998

Maimonides received an honourable mention from the Association of Jewish Aging Services (AJAS) in recognition of their adult Bat Mitzvah Program. This award was established to recognize facilities that have developed specific programs to enhance the spiritual well-being of their residents.

Maimonides was awarded "Honorable Mention" by l'Association des hopitaux du Québec for the project "Programme de soutien d'emplois: un partenariat entre Centre gériatrique Maimonides et Les Service Sociaux-professionnels Miriam."
